Installation Instructions

To ensure trouble-free operation, follow these guidelines for proper installation:

1. Piping: Use pipes with a minimum 50mm diameter for suction and discharge. Recommended suction pipe diameter is 63mm. Ensure the pipes are airtight and supported independently from the pump.
2. Pump Positioning: Position the pump no more than ±300mm above pool water level, ensuring proper ventilation and drainage.
3. Ventilation: Allow sufficient air circulation to prevent overheating. Maintain a clearance of 150mm behind the motor fan cowling.
4. Drainage: Prevent flooding of the pump motor by ensuring proper drainage in the pump house/box.
5. Electrical Connections: Only qualified electricians should handle electrical connections. Use properly rated cables and install a cable gland at the terminal box.
6. Rotation Check: Ensure clockwise motor rotation when viewed from the motor end.

Maintenance Tips

1. Clean the leaf trap and weir regularly.
2. Ensure the motor remains dust-free to avoid overheating.
3. Replace the rubber O-ring annually for a secure seal.
4. Do not run the pump dry or with closed valves for extended periods.
5. Use silicone paste for lubricating O-rings—avoid petroleum-based products.
6. Backwash the filter weekly or when the pressure exceeds 50% of the starting pressure.

Warranty Coverage

All STORM equipment products come with a 12-month warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty does not include travel, installation, or labor costs related to removal and reinstallation. Additionally, electrical components are excluded from warranty unless a surge protector is installed.

Limitations and Exclusions:
The warranty applies only to defects arising from normal use. Damages resulting from non-compliance with the installation manual or improper maintenance are not covered. Warranty coverage remains as originally specified from the purchase date, even for repaired or replaced parts.

Sole Obligation of STORM Distributors: In the event of a warranty claim, STORM or its authorized distributors have the sole obligation to the end user, and they have the following options:

• Repair: If any STORM product or parts are found to be defective in material or workmanship, STORM will repair the product or parts at no cost to the customer. The repair will be carried out promptly to ensure your pump is back in working condition.
• Replacement or Credit: In unusual circumstances and at their discretion, STORM or its authorized distributors may choose to replace the defective product or issue a credit note at the original purchase price (excluding delivery/shipping costs) for the defective goods or parts. This option will be exercised within 7 days of the purchase date.

Surge Protector Recommendation: Due to load shedding, it is important to install a surge protector to the DB box to safeguard your STORM equipment from electrical surges and fluctuations.

Limitations and Exclusions: Please note that this warranty constitutes the entire warranty with respect to the goods and supersedes all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty by distributors, salespersons, or fitness for a particular purpose. It is crucial to comply with the provisions of the manual and accepted engineering practices to maintain the validity of the warranty.

The warranty does not cover damages or delays caused by failure to comply with the provisions of the manual or accepted engineering practices. Additionally, the warranty does not cover warranty periods for repaired or replaced goods, which remain as specified from the original purchase date.
