Operation:

• Filter: Pumps the pool water into the filter, capturing sediment and dirt in the sand bed, and returning clean water back to the pool.
• Backwash: Dislodges and removes dirt and particles from the sand bed by pumping pool water into the filter and then washing them down the waste line.
• Rinse: Utilized immediately after backwashing, it pumps the pool water through the filter down the waste pipe to rinse and settle the sand before switching back to the filter mode.
• Recirculate: Allows water from the pump to bypass the filter sand bed.
• Waste: Directly pumps the pool water through the MPV to the waste line, bypassing the sand bed. This function is especially useful when there is a large buildup of dirt and leaves in the pool.
• Closed: Shuts off the MPV, stopping water from the pump from passing through the filter. This function is used primarily during the cleaning of the primary strainer.

NOTE: It’s crucial to turn off your pump before adjusting the handle on your MPV to switch positions or settings. This measure prevents any damage to the gasket in your valve.
