POOL PUMP AND MOTOR 0,6KW EARTHeCO (EQ/EQUE)

Product Description:

The pool pump 0.6kW from EARTHeCO, model EQ and EQUE, is a self-priming centrifugal pump designed for consistent daily water circulation in residential pool systems. Built around a single phase squirrel cage induction motor rated at 0.6kW and 0.75HP, this pool pump 0.6kW unit runs on 230V at 50Hz with a current draw of 4.2A, a motor speed of 2800 RPM, and a total head of 12 metres. The motor carries an IP54 ingress protection rating and Insulation Class F, making it suitable for outdoor pool environments across South Africa.

The pump body is blue polypropylene fitted with a clear lid strainer pot, allowing easy visual inspection of the leaf trap basket without removing the lid. The closed vane impeller delivers consistent flow and pressure output, while the mechanical shaft seal provides long term leak prevention. Internal threaded unions on the inlet and outlet allow for straightforward installation. Unions supplied include one 50mm and one 40mm union.

This pool pump 0.6kW model is compatible with AQUA MAX, Premium Black, Quality, Speck, and Eartheco 1 bag and 2 bag sand filters. It is suited to pools up to approximately 50 000 litres. It is not intended for use as a booster pump, feature pump, or above ground pool pump. Installation must be carried out by a qualified pool technician and all electrical connections must be completed by a certified electrician.

South African conditions present surge risk due to load shedding. A surge protector installed at the DB box is strongly recommended and is required to maintain warranty validity on the electrical components within the terminal box.

Warranty Summary

The EARTHeCO pool pump 0.6kW carries a 24 month manufacturing defects warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship on the unit itself and excludes installation, labour, and travel costs.

Electrical components in the terminal box are not covered unless a surge protector is installed. In the event of a warranty claim the unit is sent to the manufacturer for assessment, which takes approximately 2 to 5 working days, with repair taking a further 2 to 7 working days depending on the extent of the repair and parts availability. In unusual circumstances a replacement or credit note at original purchase price may be issued within 7 working days of purchase at the discretion of the distributor. Retain your purchase receipt as proof of purchase date.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size pool is the EARTHeCO 0.6kW pump suited for?

It is suited for pools up to approximately 50 000 litres when paired with a 1 bag or 2 bag sand filter. For pools larger than 50 000 litres the 0.75kW or 1.1kW model would be more appropriate.

What sand filters is this pump compatible with?

It is compatible with AQUA MAX, Premium Black, Quality, Speck, and Eartheco 1 bag and 2 bag sand filters. Always confirm your filter’s maximum flow rate before installation to ensure correct matching.

How long should I run this pump each day?

For a pool up to 50 000 litres the general guideline is approximately 6 to 8 hours per day in summer and 3 to 4 hours per day in winter. Calculate your specific run time by dividing your pool volume by the pump flow rate. A qualified pool technician can confirm the correct run time for your pool.

Does this pump require professional installation?

Yes. The pump must be installed by a qualified pool technician and all electrical connections must be made by a certified electrician. Failure to follow the installation manual will void the warranty.

 Is a surge protector required?

A surge protector is strongly recommended for South African load shedding conditions. Electrical components within the terminal box are not covered under warranty unless a surge protector is installed at the DB box.

What is the warranty on this pump?

The EARTHeCO 0.6kW pump carries a 24 month manufacturing defects warranty from date of purchase covering the pump unit itself. Installation, labour, travel, and electrical terminal box components without surge protection are excluded.

 Is this pump self-priming?

Yes. The EARTHeCO EQ is a self-priming centrifugal pump that draws water from the weir without manual priming before starting. This is the standard design for in-ground residential pools in South Africa.

Can this pump be used on a saltwater pool?

Yes. The pump body and components are suitable for both chlorinated and saltwater pool environments.

How much ventilation does the motor need?

A minimum clearance of 150mm must be maintained behind the motor fan cowling at all times during operation. The pump housing must have adequate drainage and ventilation to prevent overheating and motor failure.
