Optimize your pool’s filtration system with the Speck BADU®TEC Top Mount Multiport Valve (MPV) Complete. Designed specifically for Speck BADU®TEC top mount swimming pool sand filters, this multiport valve provides comprehensive and efficient filtration. This is a top-mounted model and is not suitable for Speck side-mounted MPV filters.

The valve’s six-position functionality allows for easy installation and access, offering various settings for filtering, backwashing, rinsing, recirculating, draining, and shutting off. It plays an integral role in loosening sand and eliminating filtered dirt through the waste system.

Operation Modes:

1. Filter: This setting filters pool water by trapping sediment and dirt in the sand bed, allowing only clean water to return to the pool.
2. Backwash: In this mode, dirt and particles in the sand bed are dislodged and washed down the waste line. Use this for about 3-5 minutes or until the water in the sight glass becomes clear.
3. Rinse: This setting is used after backwashing to rinse and settle the sand. The pool water is directed through the filter and down the waste pipe.
4. Recirculate: This setting allows water from the pump to bypass the filter sand bed.
5. Waste: Here, the pool water bypasses the sand bed and is pumped directly to the waste line. This setting is useful when there’s a large buildup of dirt and leaves in the pool.
6. Closed: This mode closes off the multiport valve and prevents water from passing through the filter. Use this setting when cleaning the primary strainer.

Safety Note:

Never operate the pump with the valve in the closed position or while changing the valve’s position. Doing so can lead to damage.
